Hurricane Katrina aftermath...

While looking through my computer, I came across pictures we took immediately after hurricane Katrina came through. Thought I would post them here. In case you are wondering what in the world we are doing riding around in this mess, we were trying to get to Bogalusa, LA from Mandeville, LA to check on the extended family. Phones/Cell were all down and we had no news, so we HAD to go.

This is Hwy 21 around the Money Hill area.

This is in the marina where we keep our boat.

Here's yet another boat that wasn't tied up properly. Believe it or not, these boats are not actually damaged. The water rose, broke the mooring lines, and gently set the boats down on their keel.

This is in Old Mandeville. The picture is mild compared to what actually occurred.

Pretty much every street in St. Tammany Parish looked like this. This too is in Old Mandeville.

Here are some shots of the CDR office building.

This picture was taken on I-12. It's a National Guard truck. Yeah, there are people stuck in there.
